
WILLIAM J. DEVITO
Bill DeVito is an Executive Assistant to the President of La Salle University. In this role, he is responsible for managing a broad portfolio of administrative functions including providing advice to the President and Board of Trustees on matters related to large-scale community and economic development initiatives, as well as real estate acquisition, disposition and redevelopment. In addition, he serves as a key University liaison with publicly elected/appointed officials, community leaders, philanthropic organizations, civic associations and other groups in an effort to communicate the University’s ongoing mission and presence in the region. As a member of the President’s leadership team, Bill works with cabinet-level officers to assist in the development and implementation of the University’s strategic plan, liaises with other colleges/universities/institutions to explore strategic partnership opportunities, and manages external consultants for various initiatives.
Throughout his career, Bill has served in a variety of positions in public, private and nonprofit organizations including the City of Philadelphia, Office of United States Senator Rick Santorum, O’Neill Properties Group and the Philadelphia Housing Authority. In each of these roles, he has demonstrated his ability to forge critical partnerships, build consensus and achieve desirable outcomes.
Bill is a native Philadelphian who received his B.A. in Political Science from Temple University, and a Master’s degree in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in Philadelphia with his wife, Justine, and remains an active member of the community through his participation in a number of worthy organizations including Variety – The Children’s Charity, Temple University Alumni Association, and the District Attorney’s Office for Youth Aid Panels. |
